Slab City, Southern California

It’s hard to say what Slab City is. Originally an old military camp in the Southern Californian desert, nomads and travelers took it over once the military moved out and it’s been a beacon for many off-grid living and freedom-searching people since the 1950s. My photos don’t do it justice in any way, but I was mostly shooting video while down there, with these snaps taken while I waited for my B-Roll captures.
