Pushing out into the canyon.

There is a suprising amount of freedom all around the canyons, maybe because there are just too many and all too large to manage. Anybody could wander in and around (maybe not legally) with relative ease. I didn't brave to climb out on this outcrop, so took a photo instead.

The words "Grand Canyon" may seem like typical American over-exaggeration...until you get there, step out onto the cliffs and look out, and then you wonder why someone couldn't come up with something grander to describe what is one of the most remarkable landscapes in the world.
